They're down permanently. If you need to grab all FLACs on a page, use a download manager like DownThemAll in conjunction with Firefox.

bummer, is there a reason they are down? why are you able to DL flac files individualy and not the whole dir? how long will these be hosted?

The whole directory was downloaded by creating (and storing) a zip file containing every FLAC file in the directory, essentially doubling the size of the entire collection. The zip files were prone to corruption and weren't used enough to justify their upkeep.
They've been out of commission for three years now and I don't think they're coming back.
As for how long the individual files will be hosted, forever is the goal. :)

Interesting! Maybe they were only disabled for the mp3-friendly artists, but not the lossless-only artists? I'll have to look into it a bit more as my original post was purely speculation.
FWIW I just tried it for both Howie Day and Jason Mraz and they actually worked fine...

yeah the zip-on-the-fly / whole directory has still been around for a while now but ONLY on shows that are "NO MP3" shows. like all jason mraz, howie day, etc. zippy!
